Gertrude Cross Stone "Little Rosary"
Niner (or Novena) chaplets are 3 sets of 3 beads and have been around for centuries, frequently crafted in monasteries and convents for fund-raising. This piece is also a "Little Rosary" or An Paidrin Beag.
The nine Chiastolite crystal beads (the Czech glass cat can make a decade) are also known as Andalusite, or "Cross Stone" or "Fairy Cross," feature a naturally formed interior cross. Andalusite comes from the Spanish province of Andalusia,
The rest is composed of sterling and glass. It may be worn as a bracelet (approx 7.5") and the medallion can be detached.
As with all of our pieces, it comes with a pouch, card and biography of St. Gertrude.
